It is a good device, but they should really improve their android app

As for mobile I have a ZTE Savvy and the app runs very poor on it, but I really can't complain since it is a very low-end smartphone,

The app is kinda lacking but the whole wireless and ease of access is very good.

Cloud stuff work fine, maybe app isn't good enough, but you can control remotely the unit

They literally walk you through the entire process though, and have a nifty little app to monitor general temp settings, storage space used and the drive status

Where it falls short is the Android app

The app on my phone quite working first, then my office computer couldn't "find" it after installing it and then at home it finally died

I’m not computer illiterate but this app is god awful

The mobile app is great, you can access Dropbox, Google Drive, and your My Cloud drive in the same app and copy data back and forth

Reason being this my biggest complaint is that I decided to "deal" with the poor user interface within the software, the multiple redundant apps and PC programs vs one nice program for all your backup needs

The NAS is a little mini computer but it's barely powerful enough to run any of the useful apps

so hopefully they will clean up the apps to work more alike and reliable and STOP adding more features for a while!The Android app is simple, but doesn't start when you restart your phone

I've tried two WD apps, and neither worked.

Sometimes the automatic backup with TimeMachine does not work neither (error message that the volume/file is already in use - in this case, you have to log out and log in again to the drive in the Finder).The app works very well, I have access to my file from my iPhone wherever I am

The app you connect through on your iPhone is not great, I’ve had upload media issues, etc

The android app is not that great and the speed is extremely slow

Okay, yes; tons of storage and decent software/apps to work with, small size, reliable

One of the cool things that the WD iPhone app does is organize your photos automatically, but it uses that time stamp and the photos were not placed in the correct date

I refuse to buy another drive since there is no indication that Western Digital even cares about this as it's been a major sticking point for users for YEARS.Also, the app to allow remote access is awful

I wish the pure web and mobile app experience was better with more features

Talk about bang for the buck!Have not tried to access it yet while on the road--but the apps appear to work just fine, and will try the web interface in about a week when I'm traveling

The personal cloud works great a home and from a far... but their apps for desktop and mobile are confusing to use

However, as a system admin background, I am used to having more control options, on both the sever (NAS device itself) and the app that access it.

Either use a bad app or deal with the device's own limited interface capabilities

I can access all of this from my Window and Mac PC's, as well as, my smart Phones and tablets.

I use it for DLNA, Mac backup and mountable drive as well as for PC.

This is a great network drive for your photos, videos, music, as well as for document backup

Bottom Line is it does work and does appear to deliver the promised results but it is nowhere near as easy or straightforward as the marketing leads you to believe.
