WD 3TB My Cloud Personal Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBCTL0030HWT-NESN

    • It goes to sleep and uses low power, but is a great storage device to dump a network's worth of data on to
    • But as a setup to remotely upload photos and videos from my iPhone to this device so that I can free up storage on my phone - it's a loser.
    • If you looking for simple , and I do mean trouble free media storage for iPhone or other Android picture and media backup with super easy no hassle, truly plug and play in 2seconds flat ,then this Is it.
    • The best storage unit yet.
    • decent enough storage though, so that's good
    • It would be easier at this point to wipe out my cloud drive and start over , I STRONGLY suggest if you use this item at all that you have EVERY file sorted BEFORE putting them into this convulted, hard to nagivate, NOT touch screen friendly storage drive of hell
    • Bought it from another vendor, working well for first 2 months then start to have lost connection, missing storage error... lots of problem
    • A few basic requirements outside of standard LAN CIFS access were automatic iPhone backups to complement existing iCloud storage, the ability to enforce basic Read, Read/Write, and Deny access ACLs, and transparent proxy capabilities for true “Cloud Access” while away from home
    • The USB port is solely for attaching yet another storage device, like a flash drive or camera memory.
    • I wanted cheap network attached storage to act as an overflow location for our media server.
    • Good storage for the money
    • I bought it with the intent to use it for easy backups and file storage via our wireless network in our home
    • For the cost you can purchase several years of cloud storage (including Amazon Primes free photo storage, or Office 365 which includes 1TB of storage)
    • WD my cloud is a very nice network storage, and it is very easy to setup for remote access and or local
    • Makes for easy storage, but if you need Plex to run order the mirror version or you'll need a connected computer as well.
    • Great storage for price, but not quite the Cloud of my dreams.
    • One of the worst storage product ever made
    • Great storage
    • I'm using this NAS exclusively as storage for my OTA DVR solution and so far it has worked flawlessly.
    • Perfect cloud storage for the home.
    • I think I took a wrong decision related to cloud family storage despite that I use many WD products but this one disappointed me still working with IT people in my company to try and figure a way to solve this issue.
    • Great private cloud storage
    • Now the hard ware for WD is fine, if u get just a dumb storage pig tale unit of 500gb or 1tb, the process of wd cloud and handshaking is horrible
    • Storage is fine but at issue is the inability for users to access the dashboard controls on a consistent basis
    • The product works great as a file storage on my network
    • Although, owning a NAS is a good storage device, there are limits as to what this particular NAS can do
    • Can't wait to get all my information off of it and get a proper cloud storage.
    • It is a well made storage device but its software is terrible
    • Since I returned this, Amazon started selling Unlimited Cloud storage for $6/month
    • My intent was to move files that are not needed everyday off my machine but to keep them accessible and not overwhelm my cloud storage (which I use for critical items.
    • So much storage, easy to get to via the app and works perfectly
    • I've got this device and later I've purchased another WD 4TB Disk (gen2) and was hoping I can set them up in a redundant pair with spare power supplies and providing much more secure storage than the single enclosure (WD Cloud Mirror)
    • It goes to sleep and uses low power, but is a great storage device to dump a network's worth of data on to
    • (sync) photos, movies, and home movies to a NAS for some redundant storage.
    • I love the storage, but would love more consistency.
    • amazon prime gives me free unlimited photo storage and to add on more video storage space would cost less than this nas over several years
    • This provides me with abundant storage space at fast speeds and great price
    • I’m pretty sure cloud backup is equally bad for MyCloudPro Series ( https://www.wdc.com/products/network-attached-storage/my-cloud-ex4100.html ) too since they basically use the same operating sytems
    • Much safer than an unknown cloud storage.
    • 4TB of secure usable storage located behind my own firewall accessible from anywhere in the world, what could be
    • But mass storage without backups is useless
    • Bought it from another vendor, working well for first 2 months then start to have lost connection, missing storage error... lots of problem

    • Borderline defective as of right now
    • This is a great network drive for your photos, videos, music, as well as for document backup
    • Bottom Line is it does work and does appear to deliver the promised results but it is nowhere near as easy or straightforward as the marketing leads you to believe.
