I'm sure in like a year the 8TB hard drives will be using some new hardware that doesn't have this problem, so maybe wait for that if noise is a concern or go down to the 4TB
-
Not much noise I could notice and so far so good after 1 month.
-
I hear very low hard drive noise but no fan noise at all (I think cooling is passive).
-
Significant noise during operation.
-
Update: after two weeks of periodic backups as a Time Machine drive on my wife's iMac, one of the drives started going south...an unusually loud and constant vibrating noise from the motor -- seems to keep getting louder
-
But as some have mentioned, I did notice an odd vibration/noise when the drive was on my desk about 18 inches from my ear(this was during initial transfer from the drive I'm retiring)
-
periodic noise drives me crazy
-
I don't have an issue with the write speed, but the noise is a bit annoying
-
While it's running it does make an occasional rattling noise but is otherwise generally quiet
-
little vibration and noise..

If this is a frequent, common occurrence, the potential buyer should be told that the object may not do what s/he thinks it will do.
