Available space is 5.4 TB.I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for 5+ TB of storage, this is an excellent value and reliable product.

My primary purpose in purchase was to have a permanent storage and backup device to free up space on my aging laptop

The 4TB hard drive is probably the best, its small light and has pretty decent space with 3.63TB

Take it from someone who had terabytes when people still thought gigs were a lot: You can never be too thin, too rich, or have enough disk space

I was tired of having to delete my old games to have free space

Regardless of what software is used, I love the large space this drive offers for backing up my file system

This hard drive has been working great as extra space for my PS4

Usable space is 7.28TB.

While access to files is OK, trying to determine free space or size of a folder on the drive (right click > Properties) takes literally hours

Nice and quiet with enough space to backup my entire computer and then some.

Finally decided to reformat the 8TB unit to NTFS since (1) I gained no additional storage space and (2) my PC would not boot with the 8TB drive attached.

so if space is a issue for you this is definitely for you.

This is completely clunky, adds noise, takes extra space, and wrecks the looks

Shows up as 7.35 of usable space after formatted.

when I checked available space on the new drive it was much smaller then expected.

If this is a frequent, common occurrence, the potential buyer should be told that the object may not do what s/he thinks it will do.

It works as it should, reading reviews before you buy Just what I wantedis a good idea.

Reading speed around 150, noisy and hot(over 62°C).. but work fine
