I now have the peace of mind that my data will not be lost, even in the event of a hard drive failure.

However, this is a signifiant concern as I may miss a bay 1 or 2 failure because I see this message all the time and don't realize it's a bay 1 & 2 not 3 & 4.

the computer that was allegedly syncing to it is very reliable and has not experienced any failures or I would have lost as much as a year's worth of original research

Only operated a year before it indicated hard drive failure...on both drives.

WD also has a very good reputation for the quality of their hard drives, as well as for customer support.

Just got this NAS to help me backup my photography as well as give me access to all my files on the drive while away.

I have since ordered 6 more for various clients as well as for internal use

Paranoid I will lose all of my kids photos and videos, so putting up the money for this was a tough decision, but glad I made it
