Tech support from Western Digital has been outstanding but my issues remain unresolved.

The product has an intermittent issue (that I believe is related to the Drive Sleep function) which causes it to freeze, disappear on the network and become unresponsive to a long-press Shutdown.

I also discovered a very odd but minor issue between the storage interface and Google Chrome

WD tech support is ignoring the issue that these units will not stay online for more than a couple of hours

I have not had any issue with it and appreciated the apps that keep my mobile pictures safe automatically

Eventually, this defect becomes a big issue

Buy if you want to have overheating issues (fan wont start and have to manually force it via SSH)

Using this device has been nothing but 7 months of inconsistent performance and frustrating software issues that seem to have no resolution

This box has known issues with randomly dropping ethernet connections and WD will not support it

Paranoid I will lose all of my kids photos and videos, so putting up the money for this was a tough decision, but glad I made it
