WD 8TB My Cloud EX2 Ultra Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBVBZ0080JCH-NESN

    • The biggest drawback compared to a Synology is that the WD one does not run Linux, but if you don't want the hassle of building your own NAS this the perfect solution.
    • After that I set out on a mission to have the best data storage solution on a non-commercial scale, which leads me to this product
    • This is a great product; I am less and less comfortable with certain info being contained In The Cloud, and this is a good solution.
    • Easy set up and a perfect solution to back up my computers files and photos on my phones.
    • If you're not sold on cloud storagebut are tired of the thumb drive shuffle between machines, this is a great solution.
    • I recommend backing up and this was a good solution with added features like your own personal cloud that your family can remotely access shared files
    • Online solutions are essentially worthless.
    • If you are looking for a basic or beginner NAS this is a great solution with an amazing web-based user interface, both easy and straight forward.
    • For those of you having this issue or thinking about buying it, all the solutions that are on the forums online, such as setting static ip and doing system restore, WILL NOT fix this issue
    • This should be an embarrassment to a company which has always had reliable and fast storage solutions in the past.
    • Perfect solution
    • The biggest drawback compared to a Synology is that the WD one does not run Linux, but if you don't want the hassle of building your own NAS this the perfect solution.
    • While I much would have liked to have a more robust solution with the options of more drives
    • For average use though, maybe, but ironing out some of the issues that are caused by WD's own implementation will go a long way for having the "perfect cloud storage solution".What prevented me from giving 1 or 2 stars is just how feature rich the Web UI is and what you can achieve with it, and how surprisingly reliable the system is, even with a 500 GB WD blue drive added as a backup
    • All in all, the security, reliability and cost efficiency of this drive has made the WD 4TB EX2 Ultra NAS a really good solution for me
    • Copying files to and from the NAS is only about half as fast as copying between PCs, usually about 40MB/s on Windows's speed indicator
    • Easy online setup I used a 3T toshiba hard drive I had laying around
    • Paranoid I will lose all of my kids photos and videos, so putting up the money for this was a tough decision, but glad I made it
