    WD 8TB My Cloud EX2 Ultra Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBVBZ0080JCH-NESN

    • It would suck to lose TB of data in one go and have to spend $$$$ trying to get it all back.
    • I was expecting 4-2TB drives in an 8TB configuration to support RAID5,10 which is much more reliable than JBOD, RAID0,1.What does that mean
    • (8 TB configuration), but failed to notice how to do this during setup, and ended up with
    • I bought the 4TB version of this unit and struggled for about two weeks to get it to act as a media server running Plex.
    • Also, while I was able to create multiple volumes (2 in my case, a Raid1 6TB and JOBD 3TB), management of those volumes after they were setup was nearly impossible, and everything attempted to change with one volume also wanted to affect the other
    • I haven't spent much time focused on the software as backing up to a 16tb WD Duo (great device as well

    • A common way for a PC.Folks- save yourself a ton of time and money and buy 4 individual 4TB Western Digital Blue hard drives from Amazon here instead of this thing and configure them inside of a dedicated PC for network access.

    • (After all - 4 bays with 2 TB HDD would be 8 TB with 6TB usable in a RAID 5 configuration.)
