WD 8TB My Cloud EX2 Ultra Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBVBZ0080JCH-NESN

    • The sad thing is it HARDLY EVER WORKS
    • If it fails, who cares they aren't expensive and I never stored important things on there to begin with.
    • I cannot say enough good things about this unit.
    • I carry four portable drives (total of about 5tb) around with me with various images and virtual disks, as well as just things that I have collected as well as personal data
    • Love this thing.
    • This thing is great
    • They're drives are alright, but the things that use them are a waste of hundreds of dollars.
    • I'm an IT professional and this thing is perfect for my personal home network backup needs
    • Easy to set up, easy to get our devices to recognize, easy to configure and manage users and access, this thing is fantastic
    • Easy to set up, easy to get our devices to recognize, easy to configure and manage users and access, this thing is fantastic
    • I can't say enough good things about the hardware or the support.
    • This is scary considering the thing is accessible from the network and even the Internet!
    • I love this thing
    • This thing will send even a computer geek screaming into the night.
    • The only thing I have a problem with is that the Plex server does not work half the time and your drives will not sleep if you have it installed
    • The sad thing is it HARDLY EVER WORKS
    • Another strange thing is that the factory reset button appears to only wipe out the Admin password, not usernames or other configuration, letting it be accessed by anyone (at the unit) with no p/w.
    • As far as the NAS goes, this thing is Bad to the Bone
    • The first thing to note about the WD offering is the variety of configurations in which it is available.
    • This thing is absolutely Terrible
    • There are two options missing imo, that really works have punched this thing through for me

    • Can't say enough about how awesome this thing is!
    • Regarding transfer speeds I saw on my own network, ….There are so many variables in each users setup such as router capability, setup, performance, Router traffic, over-all line quality and solid connections of the entire network, ..for wireless, distance slows things down over wired
    • Three things to note in addition: The drives cannot be heard spinning up but can barely be heard reading and writing in the silence; the backups on each machine take a small fraction of the time as before; and, just like my old iFruit iMacs used to do, when the NAS is asleep the longer periods between backups, the power LED slowly "breathes" dimming on and off
    • Easy online setup I used a 3T toshiba hard drive I had laying around
    • Paranoid I will lose all of my kids photos and videos, so putting up the money for this was a tough decision, but glad I made it
