Great replacement for my original hard drive from my Alienware laptop

Upgraded the small hard drive in my hp laptop with this one

I used this as a replacement hard drive for my PS3, which had fried the factory one

Installed perfectly in my 13" MacBook Pro from 2010 works just as good as original drive

I always take such advertising with a grain of salt, but must admit that it is absolutely the quietest disk hard drive that I have installed.

These drives are fast despite being 5400RPM.

I can't say, but from my personal experience, I would never recommend this drive.

There are no printed installation guides, instructions, install software or anything else (other than the drive itself) in the box, so this might be a bit unsettling for those who (like me) are accustomed to all the things that used to come in the box when you bought a new hard drive

It makes a bit of noise, but seems normal for a hard drive.

Easy swap but note the PS3 uses a custom file system and while you can clone the contents of your drive through the PS3 system, you cannot resize the partition, so you will be unable to utilize the full size unless you have the OtherOS option or you install the new drive as a fresh drive and copy stuff over using the copy utility and an external USB to sata dock/adapter

I found it was far faster and more reliable cloning the drive with both source and destination drives installed in the computer drive bays (that is, if you have 2 bays) and connected to SATA (-Like 2 hours to clone the drive over SATA vs. 20+ hrs

Sony bullt at 5400 into the PS4 originally, so it will not need faster, and a faster drive could cause overheating

But ultimately (after going back and forth to various support websites), I was finally able to get everything up and running, - and despite the additional work required, I am still very glad that I made this upgrade, because everything runs so much faster now, and my computer now truly performs "even better than new".There is a note, on the drive label, warning you that this is an AF (Advanced Format) drive, and that with certain operating systems (like Windows) you need to use a special utility (-WD Align, by Acronis -available for free download at WD's website) -in order to align the partitions of the new AF drives properly to take advantage of the new 4096-byte sector formatting

It is loud for a hard drive, bought it to swap out a different drive in my ASUS transformer tablet dock, sometimes the OS won't recognize the drive after being idle for a while and sometimes it spins up

Here's the deal: Why pay premium $$$ for your MacBook Pro (or any machine that supports this size drive), when you can buy the stripper version, and pay a fraction of the cost to add a larger drive and more RAM?It doesn't make sense, unless you are truly scared of the little screwdriver and the 15-20 minutes it takes to replace both components

It's a very good drive.

There are more expensive drives for your PS4 that may load things a couple of seconds faster, but none are more reliable or offer as much space for the dollar as this one.

With this inexpensive drive I was able to double the storage capacity of my Sony PS4

Western Digital also has great customer service in my experience with all my other WD drives in the past -- they'll send you a replacement drive with a box to ship back the dead drive if there's ever an issue.
