got this for my nephew to upgrade his computer from the OLD fat hard drive, install was pretty easy but make sure you have a screw before you order we had to wait longer cause we had to order a screw.

This allows for more airflow with the extra cables and hard drives in the way

All I can say is that I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone wanting a fast hard drive.

The gains in overall speed when upgrading to this m.2 from a traditional SATA mechanical hard drive (5400rpm or 7200rpm) is like night an day

Upgraded from a hard drive to NVME, wow what a difference

My motherboard already had heatsinks for all the m.2 slots and they keep this drive around 40C idle and around 45-47C after heavy gaming sessions

When I remove the hard drive, computer will boot into bios and windows, when a new drive is inserted into the same M.2 drive day.

After booting using a recovery disk I found this drive lost over half it's data, most unable to be recovered.

I have another drive I have previously cloned my WIndows OS on and it works fine, no lags, no iffy performance

As I've only had this drive for a few weeks I will have to wait and see how long it lasts, but since it's from Western Digital, I have some confidence that it will turn out to be an excellent drive

Just be sure to change your boot order in BIOS if you're cloning the old Hard Drive to the new one, otherwise you'll have issues and need to redo the clone.

Mechanical drives are dead to me.

Do not recommend this drive at all.

It's not unusual for different companies to not list other drives but unfortunate that most don't

So now I have to return this perfectly fine drive, all because WD has zero concept of prompt customer service or even just basic communication skills

I have experienced zero issues with both of my WD Black SSD's, they are the fastest drives for the $ when you can catch a sale.

This hard drive is great

For the sub $10 cost difference for WD Blue vs. WD Black in the 500GB size I spent the extra money to get this black drive and can say it super fast, probably one of the fastest NVMe drives I have used, it feels faster than my current Samsung EVO 970.

Plan on buying a bigger hard drive down the road but so far this 500 GB SSD had had more than enough space for my OS and programs.

This WD m.2 drive is no more expensive than a lot of SATA III 2.5" drives, and it's one of the best on the market

Sure, this drive is built with way more capability under the hood than what we'll ever use, but I'm totally ok with it considering how little we paid for it vs. buying an OEM/OWC replacement

Attach the WD Black drive to the proprietary Mac drive adapter (Sold elsewhere on Amazon), and then slip it in the same slot where the MacBook's original drive was.

After even more troubleshooting, my roommate decided to get it a go on his computer to see if the drive itself was bad or if there was some other issue with my computer

I like WD drives and have always had good luck with them over the years
