and I figured that a faster nvme ssd was not worth the difference as a sata ssd is still much faster than a hard drive.
As for being faster in other ways or noticing a difference between running everything on the NVMe vs SATA SSD, I can't tell a difference, but I know by my test that the NVMe is definitely faster
I purchased the 1TB model to use more as a game drive, as I have a faster primary NVMe SSD
Got this on sale for $60 so even better value for a super fast NVMe Gen 3 x4 3D NAND TLC SSD
The old NVME would idle at 51 degrees Celsius and rise into the 70's while under load.

So I decided to do a clean install of windows onto this SSD on my existing PC
Install is obviously easy (well besides removing the old Intel Optane chip I had in my M.2 slot, which required me to reinstall WIN10), and installing a fresh image on it was ridiculously fast
That's too bad as that would be super helpful.
Have experienced no issues with it since install over a month ago
My only complaint is that I could not migrate my old O.S. over to it, and had to do a fresh install.

Also on most motherboards installing a faster m.2 slot means shutting down the other sata lanes so you will be able to plug in less peripherals, on
Theoretically because a m.2 can get so hot and can be thermally limited(it automatically slows down when getting hot) it could make sense to get a heatsink and I suppose if you are constantly taxing this drive you should get one
this m.2 is really good and easy to install as long as you have the screws your motherboard came with.
Cloned my OS, slapped it in, and haven't had a single problem in over a month (previously comp would freeze 1-2 every 1-2 days).
This M.2 is overkill for anything I need it for :)

I upgraded from a HDD to a SATA SSD and now this NVMe in my PC as well as those other two I mentioned
as good as before
good i like it
I took off 2 stars due to the firmware issue existing and WD refusing to fix it like they fixed it on the SN850.Beyond that, since the primary use is a game drive which is read heavy and latency dependent, the firmware issue has almost no noticeable impact on game load times
Heck, I even took out all the M.2’s and booted into bios without any bootable device

I dont understand why people say the BF2042 code doesnt work, But it does
Random I/O errors, random IRQ error when trying to restart or boot, and Windows 10 kept trying to scan for errors at startup
Other people have reported similar issues.
