Reviews around quality (4.67 of 5)

  • I upgraded from a HDD to a SATA SSD and now this NVMe in my PC as well as those other two I mentioned
  • Western Digital's quality is awesome, the speed this drive provides highly improves the compute experience.
  • You will have better response if you use a better quality motherboard
  • That's too bad as that would be super helpful.
  • Easy to install, no configuration needed and really good quality

Reviews around value (4.64 of 5)

  • Lovely fast SSD drive - good value for money, and backed by a solid Western Digital warranty.
  • Excellent product, value for the money... recommend 100%
  • That's too bad as that would be super helpful.
  • Got this on sale for $60 so even better value for a super fast NVMe Gen 3 x4 3D NAND TLC SSD
  • Amazing drive I use it as my main drive and it is very fast loading up my computer, great value

Reviews around nvme (4.44 of 5)

  • and I figured that a faster nvme ssd was not worth the difference as a sata ssd is still much faster than a hard drive.
  • As for being faster in other ways or noticing a difference between running everything on the NVMe vs SATA SSD, I can't tell a difference, but I know by my test that the NVMe is definitely faster
  • I purchased the 1TB model to use more as a game drive, as I have a faster primary NVMe SSD
  • Got this on sale for $60 so even better value for a super fast NVMe Gen 3 x4 3D NAND TLC SSD
  • The old NVME would idle at 51 degrees Celsius and rise into the 70's while under load.

Reviews around install (4.21 of 5)

  • So I decided to do a clean install of windows onto this SSD on my existing PC
  • Install is obviously easy (well besides removing the old Intel Optane chip I had in my M.2 slot, which required me to reinstall WIN10), and installing a fresh image on it was ridiculously fast
  • That's too bad as that would be super helpful.
  • Have experienced no issues with it since install over a month ago
  • My only complaint is that I could not migrate my old O.S. over to it, and had to do a fresh install.

Reviews around thing (4.10 of 5)

  • HUGE upgrade from a hard drive this thing is ridiculously fast it feels like i’m dreaming at times
  • so I can't give the best review, but at least from my perspective of hard drives, this thing is insane
  • Quick little thing, fast write speeds, installed win 10 pro in something like 11 seconds, worth it.
  • this thing is fast, 4-5 times faster than my standard ssd
  • I’ve only had this ssd for 5 months and it already went out, good thing I didnt install windows 10 on it

Reviews around product (4.10 of 5)

  • The product itself is easy to install and works great so far
  • I love this product because l installed in my NAS for caching and tiering and it works great.
  • Great product, running 10 of these now in various setups.
  • The product did not work and I can not return it for some reason, Rip off
  • So all in all, this is a great product and i do recommend it

Reviews around price (4.09 of 5)

  • This drive is a beast and should retain high read and write speeds when full, unlike Intel's cheaper similarly priced drives
  • Good drive, would not mind a second if the price was right.
  • I have not found it necessary so far with temps never exceeding 46 C
  • It's been a month, the product is doing a great job- good price and great money value.
  • The price was good at $69.99 for the 500gb heatsinked version.

Reviews around storage (3.99 of 5)

  • WD makes outstanding storage devices and the WD_Black SN750 1TB NVMe Internal Gaming SSD is no exception
  • What's not to like about sequential read speeds of up to 3.4GB/s (3,400MB/s)?
  • Very easy to install, fast ssd, great for additional storage to run my OS and some online games like EFT and Hunt
  • If you want blazing fast storage from a trusted brand at a great price, this is it
  • Random I/O errors, random IRQ error when trying to restart or boot, and Windows 10 kept trying to scan for errors at startup

Reviews around m.2 (3.91 of 5)

  • Also on most motherboards installing a faster m.2 slot means shutting down the other sata lanes so you will be able to plug in less peripherals, on
  • Theoretically because a m.2 can get so hot and can be thermally limited(it automatically slows down when getting hot) it could make sense to get a heatsink and I suppose if you are constantly taxing this drive you should get one
  • this m.2 is really good and easy to install as long as you have the screws your motherboard came with.
  • Cloned my OS, slapped it in, and haven't had a single problem in over a month (previously comp would freeze 1-2 every 1-2 days).
  • This M.2 is overkill for anything I need it for :)

Reviews around performance (3.88 of 5)

  • Random I/O errors, random IRQ error when trying to restart or boot, and Windows 10 kept trying to scan for errors at startup
  • Could be that the port MacBook use doesn't support full performance
  • Performance is equal to the Samsung EVO Plus, but a tad slower than the Evo Pro
  • I have been workit with it for several weeks and the performance is amazing
  • It's like any other m.2 on the market for installation, and performance is great for price

Reviews around advertise (3.34 of 5)

  • What's not to like about sequential read speeds of up to 3.4GB/s (3,400MB/s)?
  • That's too bad as that would be super helpful.
  • Heck, I even took out all the M.2’s and booted into bios without any bootable device
  • This should be removed for false advertising and have the WD resolve it first
  • Works as advertised, MB and fresh Windows install recognized it right away.

Reviews around boot (3.34 of 5)

  • I normally use the laptop on battery and it performs really well and boots lightning fast.
  • Random I/O errors, random IRQ error when trying to restart or boot, and Windows 10 kept trying to scan for errors at startup
  • I use it for my laptop, and so far it is actually pretty cool .. boot fast and shuts down even faster
  • all good, very fast boot, as expected not the 500Gb, only 460
  • When I cold boot my laptop it sits at 40c and warms up to

Reviews around drive (2.47 of 5)

  • Like a couple of other buyers, I put the drive in and it worked fine initially
  • These little thumb drive sized, hard drives are awesome
  • Good drive, would not mind a second if the price was right.
  • Computer will not boot with hard drive inserted into any M.2 slot
  • It is 2-3 times faster than booting from a hard drive before.

Reviews around firmware issue (2.05 of 5)

  • I upgraded from a HDD to a SATA SSD and now this NVMe in my PC as well as those other two I mentioned
  • as good as before
  • good i like it
  • I took off 2 stars due to the firmware issue existing and WD refusing to fix it like they fixed it on the SN850.Beyond that, since the primary use is a game drive which is read heavy and latency dependent, the firmware issue has almost no noticeable impact on game load times
  • Heck, I even took out all the M.2’s and booted into bios without any bootable device

Reviews around heat sink (1.58 of 5)

  • I upgraded from a HDD to a SATA SSD and now this NVMe in my PC as well as those other two I mentioned
  • I paired it with a m.2 heat sink i got from Amazon as well to drop temps
  • No problems when installing, get good temps with a heat sink installed
  • My .2 is; spend the extra bit to order a heat sink for this SSD as well

  • Random I/O errors, random IRQ error when trying to restart or boot, and Windows 10 kept trying to scan for errors at startup
  • Other people have reported similar issues.
