This opener has a sharp edge on both sides and allows mail to be opened easier than a regular opener.

Would have been nicer if the sharp edge ran the full length.

Also most letter openers are incredibly dull, this one comes with a nice sharp edge on it.

However, the edges are not sharp to touch so it would not cut skin unless you pressed hard or sawed at the skin so safer around kinds etc.

Minus one star because the "sharp" edge does not run the entire length of the opener.

Speaking of sharp edges, this thing comes with beveled sides that are not sharpened to an edge because it's supposed to be something people can have on their desks without fear of cutting themselves
