This is a great letter opener thanks to helpful features such as a sharp, long blade, comfortable handle and anti-microbial protection.

The blade is sharp which requires little effort to open the envelope.

Usually stainless steel that doesn't need to have a sharp edge is pretty soft, and yes lateral pressure on the tip will flex the blade, but it springs right back perfectly

Minus one star because the "sharp" edge does not run the entire length of the opener.

Would have been nicer if the sharp edge ran the full length.

However, the edges are not sharp to touch so it would not cut skin unless you pressed hard or sawed at the skin so safer around kinds etc.

My old opener broke

To me a good letter opener is just sharp enough to do the job - get the letter/box whatever open - but no sharper

so it functions perfectly every single time and has a nice comfortable handle on it

The opener that I was provided by work was dull and had a very uncomfortable handle

The handle is comfortable and the blade easily opens letters

I've only had it for a week, but the handle seems stronger than it looks, I doubt it will break.

So much better than ripping up an envelope.

I use it mostly for cutting the tape on sealed boxes, envelopes are easier to open if i do it the old fashion way, (with my own hands and no help from the opener)

Nicely made, yet the grind, and cutting blade are not smooth operating when opening normal #10 envelopes.

Not sharp enough to smoothly open envelopes.
