Not sharp enough to smoothly open envelopes.

Nicely made, yet the grind, and cutting blade are not smooth operating when opening normal #10 envelopes.

I use it mostly for cutting the tape on sealed boxes, envelopes are easier to open if i do it the old fashion way, (with my own hands and no help from the opener)

So much better than ripping up an envelope.
