This was a back up drive in use for less than nine months and only used for the occasional back up, unfortunately when we found out we needed it - the drive and all the data that is supposed to be on it is gone as the drive no longer spins... can't say I'd trust this drive "...for primary use in desktop and All-in-One PCs, as secondary storage for archiving, in external cases or as reliable backup storage."Tested in three computers, external and internal.

slow (as expected) but good cheap storage for videos and pictures

so they are on for a little while when making a backup than turned off and put away for safe storage if recovery is needed in the future

These are a huge ripoff and scam - as most people won't bother to check the actual available storage if the sticker on the outside is correct.

They have been formatted several times and never reach 1TB of available storage when empty

Instead, if you purchase these for reliable mass storage you won't be let down.

Had it installed a week ago & what a difference....had a 1.6 GB hard drive that crashed & now with the new 1T hard drive

This is my 3rd 4T drive--all excellent and reliable.

This drive suffers from horrible I/O errors if you ever try to do any kind of constant writing job, such as extraction of an archive file or configuring a virtual machine on the drive, or other program installation

Raid 1 rebuilt the array and no i/o issues.

I can't even restart some of the virtual machines because as soon as they try to load from this drive, it reports an I/O error and ceases operations for that virtual machine

Run as fast as you can and don't look back!

i recommend as it could be used for backups or in my media box as I am using it

Removed it from the case and i have it lying around as i don't live in the US and sending it back is as expensive as buying a new one
