To day they're working great, the 2 storage drives are running nearly 27/7 and the 2 backups are only plugged in to sync them when I have enough stuff changed or added and then turned off

WD is almost always a good choice - this one worked when I got it and is still working - and working hard in fact.

So although this drive works excellent in my TiVo Roamio OTA, I would suggest to use the WD30EURS since it is better for 24/7 use.

There's not much to say about a hard drive, but so far it's working great.

I would strongly suggest staying away from Green drives, my other WD Black drives (7 of them) are working just fine for many years!

Any kind of large sector read from the virtual machine's files (such as attempting to resume lost work) causes exactly the same problem

These things have been stable work horses for years now

Thankfully, I had this in a two drive mirror and the other hard drive is working just fine

I don't use it for things where I need super-fast speeds, so I can't speak to benchmarks or the like, but it's worked very well for my needs, and I've had no issues with it thus far

This drive suffers from horrible I/O errors if you ever try to do any kind of constant writing job, such as extraction of an archive file or configuring a virtual machine on the drive, or other program installation

Raid 1 rebuilt the array and no i/o issues.

I can't even restart some of the virtual machines because as soon as they try to load from this drive, it reports an I/O error and ceases operations for that virtual machine
