FYI , I have tried two quality pencils, the pencil sharper doesnt work well on those cheap pencils, like I meant those $8.99 for 50 pencils kind.

The sharpener I received was defective: it did not stop automatically even when the pencil already got sharp

As stated in the user manual as well as on amazon and in youtube videos, the blade is supposed to move away (while the motor is still running) when the pencil becomes sharp enough
