    Xbox One Media Remote

    • It has just enough buttons to do everything you need
    • Only downfall is no a,b,x,y buttons so some apps ask to use
    • The size is perfect for my hand and isn't cluttered with unneeded buttons.
    • However, when you tilt the remote, the backlight turns on and illuminates the buttons, which is a nice touch
    • For those complaining that it lacks the ABYX buttons, it is called a media remote for a reason
    • But after using it for a while, I've grown very tired of missing buttons due to their poor defining feel on the face of the controller.
    • Works awesome but the glow light that illuminates the buttons start to glow once it moves, it seems to be motion sensor controlled.
    • PROS:- always on, don't have to wait every time- helpful buttons for one guide, menu, etc.- excellent build
    • A Last Channel button is necessary for actually watching shows and not just commercials.).2 - I would like a dedicated TV Power button (I know the Xbox One can turn off the TV for me when I turn the Xbox One off
    • Love the matte finish, rapid light buttons as soon as you jiggle it, solid build and not cluttered with a million buttons
    • The buttons, and how they function with both the Blu-Ray player and other media streaming apps are not exactly intuitive
    • The glowing X button should turn off the Xbox without asking for confirmation, just like a real TV remote would.2
    • Nice soft touch feel (similar to the back of a Nexus 7), responsive buttons laid out intelligently, and a good size that won't clutter up your coffee table.
    • I only bought the remote, and I was happy to find it, because the buttons are so touchy on the
    • Some buttons work intermittently.
    • I hate this remote, too few buttons to properly control the xbox
    • It does help that the three top buttons are in similar positions as the controller
    • Just to be perfectly clear: All the buttons worked for me and i have no Kinect.3
    • Soft smooth face buttons, backlite buttons activate when motion is detected.
    • , B buttons, why are they lying
    • Remote glows with the same white color as the Xbox One button on the Xbox One so it has the same color scheme
    • It doesn't have number buttons which is useful for people who run their cable box through the One
    • I like that the buttons illuminate just by moving the remote
    • Cons: Automatically backlit buttons should stay on longer.
    • Solid and sturdy, motion sensitive backlit buttons and works for all my apps
    • All the buttons are nice and responsive, although I did have a couple of missed button presses
    • I love how it feels, each button, and the perfect lighting
    • a dozen or more button presses to correct a simple typo
    • It's a lot easier for me to figure out because the buttons are like a normal remote, vs A,B,X,Y on the video game controller
    • The motion-controlled lighting also ensures that you don't lose it in the dark or have to fumble around hoping you press the right button
    • The buttons feel very nice and have a quality feel when pushing them down.
    • and I don't miss the X-button
    • Just the right quick access buttons and setup was a breeze...even runs volume on my Sonos
    • It definitly could use some number buttons & (XYAB) buttons
    • The XBox original remote buttons work
    • I'm disappointing it doesn't have the number buttons
    • What functions as the A button in most apps doesn't work that way in all of them
    • The buttons are hard to press since their almost flush, the buttons are also hard to see without the built in light being on, and worst of all, the remote uses IR and requires a line of sight with the xbox in order to work.
    • The number buttons won't really be missed
    • And even then I find myself jamming the buttons over and over for anything to happen
    • Well, there is no 'B' button on this remote
    • Hopefully there will be an update to allow this remote to have that functionality, but it will be missing buttons no matter what
    • I would recommend it over the game controller because it is too easy to bump a button unintentionally on the controller while watching a disc.
    • Almost too small, hard to hold even, terrible button placement and no XYAB
    • This way they aren't always on when the remote is on wasting energy, and you can use it in the dark for good movie lighting without having to search for the correct button to pause or whatever you need
    • When you move the remote there is a back-light that illuminates the buttons on the remote so you can see which button you need to press
    • I'd like the guide button to use DirectTV's guide
    • and it takes a while to auto shutoff, when I set it down next to me on the couch to watch and then end up bumping a button that fast forwards the show I'm watching, for example
    • The buttons are cool, the motion sensing light is great, and it's attractive
    • The buttons are big and a pleasure to push
    • If you were going to pick up the remote anyway, it doesn't matter, but if you just wanted to push a button while it's lying on a table, you're out of luck.
    • and it has the right buttons for videos and music.
    • The buttons can be a pain to push
    • All the buttons are nice and responsive, although I did have a couple of missed button presses
    • A few extra user programmable buttons would have made it great.
    • The buttons are far easier to use for this purpose than on a controller, and short of the occasional hesitation in figuring out some of the button mapping, it's very intuitive.
    • All the buttons are illuminated - accelerometer detects when you pick the controller up to light them.
    • The main xbox button was stuck rendering it useless, but after I pried the button out, it seems to work again (albeit with some nice bite marks), so I'd say it's fairly durable :)
    • This really helps you find buttons in the dark and removes the need for a glow-in-the-dark button some remotes tend to have
    • The entire remote has a nice soft touch finish, the buttons are comfortable and it has a motion sense that lights up the button when you grab it.
    • The buttons are very comfortable
    • The buttons are easy to access and are a breeze to use
    • The 6 buttons at the bottom that control movies/media streaming apps are great.
    • It's got this sexy backlighting and some super-minimalist buttons.
    • But there are functions I miss across the board: no buttons to access the DVD/Blu-ray menus, no ABXY buttons, no power button, no Display or Info buttons.
    • and then i'd bump the bumper button and skip to the next chapter
    • Holding the top home button will turn the Xbox on,if you don't want to use the voice command
    • Something I especially like, but isn't really something that is necessarily important is the way that they concealed the battery compartment in a way where there's no annoying button or such or any noticeable seams when you're holding it
    • It is missing number buttons.
    • The motion activated light up buttons are a nice touch, but overall I can't really recommend this remote to anyone looking for something comfortable and easy to use.
    • Works, could use a few more buttons for subtitles etc., but overall nice
    • The button style is closer to the newest black Xbox 360 remote design, where they are hard and clicky instead of the older white Xbox 360 remote design that had soft, subtle buttons
    • I haven't tried all the buttons yet, but so far it works for what I bought it for
    • This remote is really set up for the Xbox One Media experience; the OneGuide button and volume controls are prominent
    • The buttons are a little hard to push and you have to nearly directly in front of the XBOX for it to pick up the signal
    • Well, this remote does not have a Y button
    • Just OK... buttons are hard to see because it requires illumination and it doesn't illuminate the remote unless it is moving, but it's hard to see buttons while it is moving.
    • It's size, the soft buttons, the fading lights, and the fact that it's made by the manufacturer
    • The buttons feel nice, and other than the mute button, they are all easy to find with the feeling of your thumb
    • the buttons are satisfying to click and even my wife has commented how nice it is to have
    • I move it and the lights go on, I look at the remote to find the right button but within 2 seconds, they are already starting to fade and gone completely in 3 seconds
    • While having less buttons than last time, just finding the right button to get to media controls or a bluray menu is a chore as prominent buttons are for other Xbox One 'features'
    • etcIt has a good weight to it, the buttons are responsive and satisfying to the touch
    • The buttons themselves are very responsive, and have a nice solid feel, giving a good click/thunk when you press them
    • The buttons illuminate whenever you move the remote, so you always know where the right button is.
    • But the nicest is the back button
    • It also fits nicely in the hand, with a smooth surface that surprises you with a tactile physical "click" when you depress a button
    • My wife is MUCH happier about using this to control Netflix and other streaming content rather than pulling out my controller and messing with that (which she always hit the triggers or wrong buttons and got frustrated).
    • The buttons light up whenever I shake it
    • I miss the XYBA buttons
    • Plus some buttons still fail to fire even when I hit them square on.
    • The buttons feel very nice and I doubt will wear hardly at all with time.
    • The remote is very solid and has a nice protective silicon (i guess) cover over the entire thing giving it a good grip and protecting the buttons from my kids.
    • The buttons are unresponsive
    • The buttons may not be the same issue for everyone.
    • The buttons are nice and responsive, it's okay in the hand if a bit short feeling because the main media controls are on the bottom (Play/pause, forwards and back, etc...
    • The buttons glowing when it senses movement was a pleasant surprise for me.
    • Best remote, buttons work way better than the knock off brands.
    • The buttons actually make sense, and no accidental button pushing!
    • I actually haven't missed the number buttons my 360 & PS3 remotes have
    • The Blu-Ray functionality is terrible due to how the One handles it and this remote is missing all the important Blu-Ray buttons for the menus
    • I don't really have a preference as far as hard/soft buttons go, just pointing it out
    • The remote sleeps when it is still on a table; Pick it up and it wakes, illuminating the buttons automatically - a very nice touch - and very useful, especially when you're in a dark room
    • All the buttons light up including the top "dashboard" button
    • also there are no number buttons on it
    • One star removed because it lacks number buttons, which it really needs if intended to control TV.
    • I don't really have a preference as far as hard/soft buttons go, just pointing it out
    • I actually haven't missed the number buttons my 360 & PS3 remotes have
    • I'm knocking this down one star because the buttons are a little difficult to press and you sometimes have to push a button 3-4 times before the Xbox realizes you've pushed it.
    • Best remote, buttons work way better than the knock off brands.
    • It works as a universal remote if you setup your Xbox to control the TV and will turn on/off your TV sand Xbox with one easy button
    • The buttons illuminate, which is nice.
    • The mute button is great and quick to use.
    • A few more buttons would be great also
    • The look and feel of this remote is top line however the buttons are not as responsive and tend to delay
    • I'm looking for something now a little more comprehensive, with X Y B A buttons and the like, but this remote will not disappoint for what it's made to do.
    • That said, the layout is a bit different and the buttons are hard to make out.
    • The remote itself has a great matte texture, the perfect weight, nice button actuation and fits great in the hand
    • When you pick the remote up it lights up for you due to the accelerameter inside so you don't have to strain to find the right button
    • We use the Xbox as our 4k player, so having this remote that lights up when it is moved, makes find button nice and easy in a dark room.
    • Nice weight, nice texture on the back, and nice button layout and feel
    • The inner buttons are a little uncomfortable to press when you are holding it, still does the
    • And the buttons make apps like Netflix,Hulu, and the blu Ray player better
    • Really cool light up buttons, when you pick it up
    • The backlit buttons are super useful too! using it in a dark room is not a problem at all
    • The buttons are easier to use than the controller.
    • The buttons feel very nice and I doubt will wear hardly at all with time.
