The first is that it has to see the actual Xbox enclosure - for whatever brilliant reason it doesn't directly communicate with the Kinect (this is a complaint separate from how the remote works in practice - once the Xbox receives the commands from the media remote, the Xbox then uses the Kinect to blast commands to your electronics)

The only reason I am not returning it is because my wife refuses to play movies using the gaming controller

I suppose there may be some standards to follow and the remote can be configured for the TVs so the signal has to work the same way, but whatever the reason, it is less convenient than the gamepad

The reason it got 4 stars rather than 5 is because if I point it right at the xbox it doesn't work all the time.

Since that was a big reason we ordered it its disappointing

But the xbox one doesn't use the kinect infrared sensor for some ridiculous reason - so you need to point it directly -

Lack of knowledge about the product is no reason to rate it poorly

This remote is great, it works with th TV app, Hulu, netflix, everything except for youtube for some odd reason

Last night I was able to properly connect my dish box and audio receiver and it works as it should

Works exactly as I wanted it to

What it lack are the A, B, X, and Y buttons.

I also liked the A,B,X,Y

Works as it should - big issue I have with this remote is the battery life

THe ownly downfall is that in some applications it isnt recognized as a proper controller which can be annoying as when i was trying to set up a fitness profile i had to go grab the controller.

I also need to grab my cable box remote to power it on and off as well as to pull up my DVR list or to record something on my DVR.

Other then that works as it should and I use it everyday.

By the way, setting up the remote to work as my TV remote: effortless

now can enjoy watching movies on my Xbox one s
