My only complaint with this remote is that, unless you have the set-top box thing passing through the Xbox One, the volume controls don't do anything, which means you'll still need the TV remote handy, but it's still better than navigating the menus using the controller, as great as the controller is

This thing is a lifesaver if you or someone in your home uses the Xbox One for Netflix or general film/movie/video entertainment on a very consistent basis.

A couple things annoy me about it.

The only thing I can complain about is the lack of ABYX buttons, those would be handy like if you're searching something and want to backspace it would be more handy to push 'B' instead of going over to the backspace

I think this remote is one of the best things I have ever used as a remote

The awesome thing is that the buttons glow when you move the remote, and dim back down if the remote isn't moving for some time

It's actually surprising how useful this thing is, and how often you'll use it if you're running your TV through your XBox, watching a lot of Netflix, or dealing with those dreaded "Can't Control With Voice" prompts that, without this, are the bane of your existence.

This could have been a nice remote, but the infrared beam it emits is so narrow, you have to point the thing dead on with the sensor for it to recognize your input.

Allows you to navigate the entire Xbox dashboard, as well as your TV listings, and even controls things on your TV like volume and turning it on or off (via Xbox)

No longer do we have to yell at the Xbox repeating the same thing over-and-over like idiots (for further reading, check out the definition of insanity that is commonly attributed to Einstein)

This is the best thing ever for Netflix and Youtube and Hulu and all those other video apps

We bought the Xbox One S for 4K compatibility, so my husband bought this remote to try to simplify things

and microsoft did a good thing by making it so cheap in relation to their other products

The controller lights up when use it but doesn't stay on for a long time, which in my opinion is a good thing

so we literally have to stand up and point the thing directly at it too work
