Reviews around strategy (5.00 of 5)

  • Fans of the original series should love it, and people looking for a good strategy rpg should as well.
  • One of the best games in recent years, XCOM breaks a bit from the original XCOM games but still provides an enjoyable, tactical team-based strategy game.
  • It was a very fun strategy game that forces you to handle the XCOM project as a whole as well as your soldiers on the field in your individual battles
  • Good strategy, but very complex, may take a few rounds to figure out what you are supposed to do, and as a result may require a complete restart, but that is part of the charm!
  • What it is is a great strategy rpg where you control a squad of military units to take out the invading aliens.

  • I have never played any of the XCOM series games but this game has very good graphics (based on the Unreal engine) and the interface works well.

Reviews around mission (5.00 of 5)

  • Other missions are a lot easier as well.- Don't feel like you have to rush to major missions (Alien Base and Temple Ship assaults) as soon as you accept them
  • This allows you time to think through your options given the enemies presented and their positioning and abilities, pick what you want to do, and press go essentially (and hope the enemy turn response doesn't beat you down)...and repeat until you win your mission (hopefully, several are rather difficult to beat)
  • This is a great strategy space game with very fun combat missions.

Reviews around challenge (5.00 of 5)

  • Not for 'new gamers' due to the challenging 'easy' difficulty, the video is attractive, sound and music good, moderate repetition with enough variance to provide an enjoyable non-linear gameplay experience for almost all.
  • The gameplay is smooth with a few bugs, and the game provides solid and enjoyable challenge for those unfamiliar with tactical gameplay.
  • I'm also looking forward to trying out some of the mods for it (something you cannot do on the PS3, due to Digital Media Rights crap.)Overall: a very enjoyable, challenging game.

  • It was challenging then; but the gameplay was excellent
  • The difficulty levels vary enough to provide challenge to most gamers, and the gameplay is solid yet approachable.

Reviews around class (5.00 of 5)

  • You have two move distances, standard (which allows overwatch) and 'dashing', which uses your entire turn.- Upgraded alien classes, and a few new ones.- Specific classes for your troops

Reviews around thing (1.00 of 5)

  • I will say that lack of replay-ability isn't necessarily a bad thing, so long as you were expecting it, and this has been your warning
  • The biggest problem with it is, that I get so caught up playing that I neglect other things
