The Sony was very smooth and quite operational unit

My Sony died a year ago and I have gone without.

this one is a keeper versus the cheap Sony CD changer currently on the market.

I have been using an old old Sony 5 disc player that still works but wanted to update it.

But I really miss my old Sony ES series changer, which died 2 years ago

The quirky and possibly non-functional Yamaha, the "haunted" Onkyo, or the cheaper Sony, (which I have also owned at one point, and which doesn't even publish their S/N ratio?Yes, single-disc players exist which are likely built better, but that defeats the purpose of trying to have music play without having to run over and putter with my components ever 45 minutes or so

The Sony never made it thru the first disc, before it crapped out

My very old Sony did that before it died.

As a matter of fact, I am glad the Sony was a lemon because otherwise I never would have ended up with the far superior Yamaha.
