Yamaha CD-S300BL Compact Natural Sound CD Player Black

    • This is a very well built and nice sounding CD player but it has a few limitations that the Onkyo C 7030 that I ended up keeping does not have
    • The Yamaha Super Audio CD player CD-S1000 is an elegantly styled, solid, well built player which weighs in at an impressive 31 pounds
    • First thing out of the box you notice is the sturdy build quality of this unit, it is a gorgeous piece with wood side panels, sort of an old 70's retro, throwback style that I love.
    • In the time I have owned this player after upgrading from the CD-S700, It has never failed to amaze me with its revealing and natural sound, deep sound stage and unparalleled build quality
    • If you are really looking for a nice sounding well built CD player you cant go wrong with either player
    • The transport mechanism is smooth and well-built, and I have no problems whatsoever with skipping or difficulty playing scratched disks even though the player is located closer than it should be to my Polk subwoofer and towers, and the fact that I often play my music (from classical to rock, pop, jazz, country, hip-hop) quite loud.
    • The Onkyo with it's Woflson DACs and high end transformer is a great sounding and well built player
    • That said, I would order both and decide for yourself after a good A/B comparison
