Overall, an excellent little digital drum set
-
FANTASTIC AND VERSATILE MINI DRUM SET UP FOR THE SERIOUS DRUMMER!!!
-
It's a nice portable drum pad
-
I am a guitarist and a singing, but my wife is a learning drums to play with me and she loves this thing
-
With the software in place, I ordered the Yamaha KP65 kick tower (which is an excellent product) to have realistic kick drum action
-
Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine for some more realistic drum sounds, and then into my computer for recording
-
The DD-65 has recesses on the bottom that fit a snare drum stand and it makes it very comfortable to use.
-
The other great thing is that because it is digital you can easily plug it into your computer's "audio input" jack and record amazing sounding drums into your digital recordings
-
Many different realistic drum sounds/kits, velocity sensitive pads, pedals, and more features for us to discover and grow into
-
I bought a snare drum stand to perch them on...the drum pad kit has conveniently located notches in the underside to accommodate a snare drum stand, and it sits solidly on the stand itself and stands up to some fairly heavy playing with the sticks
-
One more thing: I thought that it would be a substandard drumming experience by playing on a digital drum set like this.
-
The Yamaha DD-65 is made to receive a standard snare drum stand to the bottom as a way of playing it without putting it on a table.
-
I love the DD65 electronic drums, I added the Kp65 upgraded bass drum to my kit, and added a Tama Iron Cobra double bass drum pedal, and also a Yamaha MS50Dr drum monitor amp for this unit.
-
The sound is great and the drums are very responsive
-
and I don't care to have a super realistic drum tone.
-
Hitting the pads truly felt like a good electronic drum kit and you can do quite fancy fills and quick snare hits and it gets transmitted and "expressed" quite faithfully
-
When I wanted to move onto a trap drum kit, my parents said, "No
-
One more thing: I thought that it would be a substandard drumming experience by playing on a digital drum set like this.
-
And yes, a snare drum stand to hold the unit at the right height and angle is a good option
-
There are positives however: it has a very nice sound, ports for use with a snare drum stand, and a very diverse song database for learning the art of percussion
-
Great sounds, easy to change settings, easy to use, fits well on a snare drum stand
-
Kick drum doesnt work
-
An easy way to get good drum sounds that did not require a ton of mic placement, gating, etc.-
-
This is a very good drum set
-
Kick drum is majorly defective.
-
Really nice drum set
-
I'm not a drummer, but I am an active guitar player who was looking to buy an introductory, but tolerable, drum set for my nine-year old
-
If you are looking for a portable drum kit or a cheap way to get into playing drums this is for you
-
We have loved these drums
-
Now I can record great sounding drums without using my mouse or keyboard!-Upgrade-abilityI plan on buying a real set sometime in the future, but what's great about this is that I can build the set and have something to play on too
-
So you get him this nice digital drum set thatdoesn't take much space and is enough to get him through the basics
-
If a drum machine was good enough for Big Black, Rapeman, the first Jesus Lizard EP, etc I think I can get by with not-quite realistic sounding drums
-
It has clamp slots for any snare drum stand.
-
my grandson loves the drums!!!!!!!!
-
Built-In speakers not loud enough for a good jam sessionFinal thoughts: Overall, the Yamaha DD-65 is an amazing portable drum set for its low-priced, high quality drum set, with the downside of the floor pedals being buttons, but that's a fairly easy fix if you buy the Yamaha KP-65 kick tower in which you can use a real kick pedal and its pad is large enough to sport a double
-
Even good "electronic" drums look like something shoddy with their goofy frames.
-
The DD65 is a great electronic drum kit
-
And this isn't a complaint of the drum pad kit itself, but just noting it for those who go the snare drum stand route as a way of mounting it for use
-
Yamaha and other companies sell better pedals and if you were to replace the supplied pedals with upgraded ones, then you will have a fairly nice and compact drum kit
-
After getting completely frustrated with the quality of cheaper electronic drums sold off the shelf at most department/toy stores I looked into a higher quality kit for my 8 yr old daughter
-
It knocked the rust off my playing and has allowed me to record some nice drum tracks with my songs
