    • Update: at louder volume there is a strong buzz
    • Thus when I am at home, I can now use my real amps instead of a simulation at super low volumes via the Torpedo Cab
    • If you want a fantastic modeling amp to gig with at medium to loud volume, the Boss Katana 50 which I also own does everything the Yamaha does acoustically and more
    • Most tube amps sound fantastic but only at a sweet spot volume which can be ear splitting even with super low power tube amps
    • If you lower the volume and gain it will not shut down.
    • The little amp does take pedals well, so this would have made it more versatileI will find use for this out by the pool and other places I want a small portable low volume "stack"
    • But this amp had to be low enough volume for my son and my godson to play around on, it had to have decent set of features, it had to portable, and it had to accommodate both acoustic and electric guitars
    • I can get those same over-driven, sounds at a sane volume with the
    • Light weight, good volume and lots of effects for a small unit
    • I am using less than half of the available volume
    • Changing the Master & Gain controls changes the Guitar's volume while the "Volume" sets the overall output
    • I have or have had every "modeler" imaginable in looking for a nice, low volume practice device.
    • I don't have to beat up my guitar to get a good volume, just turn up the volume.
    • so it won't put out enough volume for even a small band
    • The THR doesn't get massively loud, but it has enough volume to get way too loud for an apartment which is all you need in a practice amp
    • Not loud enough for most gigs, but in a relatively quiet venue, it will provide adequate volume.
    • Ok, a few other notes: usable volume really begins at 12'O clock.
    • The overdriven sound it produces is like a recording of a full size amp being whaled upon, played at a lower volume (well I keep it low as a favor to hotel neighbors).
    • Outdoors the volume disappears quite a bit, but still decent.
    • Adequate volume for solo play, decent mix of amps and features.
    • And surprisingly loud volume
    • But what is really nice is u can turn the volume way down so u don't disturb the rest of the house and still get great sound
    • The volume exceeded my expectations and allows me to comfortably jam with others.
    • So this 2 x 5 watt amp should not be thought to compete with much larger speakers in amps with 4 to 6 times the wattage, although volume versus size it's quite impressive
    • Pros: - hi-fi quality audio - really (really) good, life-like classic amp models, good range of tones and effects - lightweight and small, but this thing is built like a tank (and battery power for ultimate portability) - simple, intuitive amp-like control interfaceCons: - master volume control is not consistent when switching amp modelsPlaying around with this thing for a half hour forced me to totally reverse my opinion of amp modelers - it sounds amazing
    • Sounds great, has very good effects, great tone control, and more volume than needed for its purpose
