Yes the motor has a bit more noise than the Canon lenses but its not that bad.

Downsides are the cheap build quality, loud robotic focus motor, and uneven bokeh quality across the image

The only complaint I have is the motor for the AF is a bit loud and sounds very electronic-y when it's focusing

Slow to autofocus; the lens doesn't hunt but the motor is pokey.
