ONE little glitch - on the first attempted use the punch portion wouldn't go through the cut out portion so plastic would get mangled and not punch the picks out.

The case has a hard plastic backing which wraps around the side walls and ends at the front of the phone, this is good, but that plastic that lines the side walls of the phone is slippery

This case is two pieces, it has a thick rubber sheath and then a thinner hard plastic case snaps over that.

The case has a soft rubber sleeve with a hard plastic shell that snaps over top

Sturdy plastic, and great rubber that doesn't slip out of your hands

The inner plastic is good and thick (preventing it from becoming loose quickly).

On the sides, where your palm and fingers naturally rest when gripping the phone, there isn't any rubber - just the hard (and sometimes slippery), smooth plastic

The pick will only be as good as the plastic (we used the credit cards that always seem to litter my mail for a stronger pick), but it was easy to punch and a fun gift for the musician that has everything!

I used some of the included strips as well as other plastic materials that would have otherwise gone into the garbage which were thicker

Since the plastic was an added bonus he didn't expect, he really didn't mind.

Not sure how it will handle a drop, I'm worried the hard plastic might just pop off during impact

What can I say that has not already been said about this case?It is tough and protective with lot's of rubbery cushion on the corners and a hard plastic "overlay"

The second part is a hard plastic shell

I got this item as a gift and it is very sturdy and creates great picks out of hard plastic or old credit cards.

Not sure what the deal is but the hard plastic shell isn't flush on the sides over the rubber surround

The only fault I can find is that the top and bottom of the case where there is no hard plastic, tends to be fairly flexible.

The rubber is built great, nice and soft, while the plastic is very hard

Just a nit: The hard plastic case feels a little slippery.

Maybe the free pack will have improved plastics.

Very slick plastic case and not something that would do much for gripping the phone

The combo of hard plastic and soft black rubber make for an easy grip and I take great comfort in knowing that this case will protect my phone from the bumps and scrapes of life

This is a great cover in two pieces, the first is a snug rubber "jacket" and the second hard tough plastic

The hard plastic case that goes around the rubber is slick, so this case actually makes the phone more difficult to hold than when it doesn't have the case on it.

This is it, a good rubber coating, solid construction, the problem areas with thicker rubber, and a hard plastic shell where it needs it to be with a rather interesting back design (that actually makes it slightly more grippy) this product is great

The plastic was in the package as promised by the product description

Only knocks against it, the hard plastic 'cover' that wraps around from the back can be a bit slick in your hand.

It's a nice mix between soft, cushion-like rubber, and a really solid plastic backing.

For those that want moderate protection falls (not water), this is a steal at $10.My comment is to highlight that as others have reported, the smooth plastic slides can sometimes be a bit slippery

but I wish the hard plastic back was a little more grippy/sticky

If they added a strip of rubber along the sides of the phone case on the plastic hard case to alleviate the slippery nature this would be most awesome phone case for the Nexus 4.

The rubber material that makes up 80% of this case wears down over time, stretching as it goes in and out of hands, pockets, etc., until it doesn't hold the phone well enough to keep the back cover of hard plastic in place

It works exactly as you would imagine - a pick-shaped hole punch.

Excited for my step son to try it on Christmas morning as he is always losing his picks this will be perfect for him!
