This concerned me a little, but once I put the hard outer shell on, it was fine (although the top and bottom where the rubber is exposed still is kind of loose).

It seems like the soft purple shell is a little too small for the hard shell

I've been using this case exclusively for over a month, after being disappointed in the currently available selection of cases for the Nexus 4.I have previously owned OtterBox Commuter cases for other phones, and this case is the same concept... soft silicon inner lining and a hard outer shell

I would recommend turning the phone off when putting the full case on for the first time because the soft case has to readjust itself after the hard shell goes on.

This is a superior system to the otterbox style of soft outer shell and hard inner core because those systems wear out quickly from the rubber tearing and the rubber still sends the shock through the phone
