It's definitely quieter than a normal splash, my only gripe is that it's a little bit thicker than the other L80 cymbals so it plays a little differently, but not enough for me to no recommend it.

I planned to use this on a cocktail kit for gigs in smaller venues where I need reduced volume, but the tone is so terrible it will only be used for practice.

That being said, they're good secondary cymbals, to add variety to your practice drum set, but I would not recommend purchasing these if you don't already have an original LVC set.
