When played with the foot as an example on "two and four" with the ride cymbal in your right hand the hi hats produce a chick sound - so much better than traditional acoustic hi hats in conjunction with rubber cymbal mutes, reason is if youve ever played traditional acoustic hi hats in conjunction with rubber cymbal mutes they dont sound very good especially when played open and closed using sticks, in that situation they produce an out of context (volume wise especially - as well as tone wise

Amazing for low volume practice, same feel and sound as real cymbals (and they have excellent tone) with an extremely reduced volume

I actually enjoy the tone these cymbals produce as well, they aren't as tinny as I was expecting.

Apart from the low volume, the tone is quite good for the price.
