If you leave your alkaline batteries in the device, powered off, expect to find your battery drained.

I'm hoping that the next firmware addresses this battery drain issue.

After using about 10 times the files no longer write properly and the battery drains over night

so I'm now confident the battery draining issue has been resolved.

Personally I would not buy this device again until all those issues have been fixed, at least the battery draining and case creaking

If connect power to the USB port, I want it to charge my battery inside at least at trickle, (because it definitely does not charge the battery and might even drain the cell a little too).A real on/off switch would be great, I really hate this issue with parasitic battery drain, it's crappy to leave it sitting for a few days, come back and find it completely dead needing to recharge or get another battery.

The first unit I received had the battery drain issue that others mentioned, where a fresh battery was dead after a day or two even without any use.

it came with and the audio is quite clear as long as it is pointed in your general direction, but not as good as with the lapel mic

audiophile-grade playback gear and the 96kHz LP rips I make on the H1 still sound about as good as those made on any other ADC I've got

Technically it is as good as without the tape hiss, weighs less than one mike and carries in my pocket not my car trunk

The built in auto level doesn't work as well as I would've hoped

The quality of recordings seems to be as good as with the higher priced units.

I advise getting a strong windscreen because the one sold in the accessory pack did not work as effectively as I would have liked.
