Zoom H1n Handy Recorder (2018 Model)
This product has been around for a long time -because it does a great job at basic recording
and it does a great job of capturing others around me also.
I use it to multi-track record video interviews, and it does a great job.
I use it to record all of the audio for my YouTube channel and it does a great job
It does a good job recording through it's stereo condenser mics as well

Great recorder, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to record high quality sound, at a good price
This is an excellent digital recorder and a great price
Really good, the audio quality is great, design works really well, and the price isn't bad at all.
A nice little recorder, great sound and the price is pretty fair.
it comes in handy all the time and the price was to die for

Playback audio using the device is awful; can barely hear it.
this is a proven device and i doubt i have anything pertinent to add .. i use it to record a separate sound track for my motorcycle log vids, with a remote mic .. in that
If you need to capture high quality (WAV preferably) audio, this is a great device
Sound is very low and noisy even with noise cut option its the worst device I
This audio device is great for making second audio tracks in the field

(I even purchased a second microphone that is supposed to work with it and it also didn't work.
This item performed okay, and the internal microphones weren't too bad
The microphones are incredibly sensitive, but the auto-level feature works surprisingly well
The microphones are super sensitive, and can pick up the smallest sounds
I've always had problems with recording live vocals or guitar on my computer using garage band with really all the microphones I've ever used, but this microphone is sooooo clean

anyway, this product is good and perfect for recording!
At this point, I can't give a defective product a rating higher than 1 star.
I received this product as a gift, and it works just great!
It's a great recording product if you think cell phones have good sound quality
The product received was scratched up on the top and bottom

It had great sound for a $100 recorder and I was blown away
The size was great for what I needed and the sound was good too
I get great, clear sound from this recorder and very easy to use.
Bloody handy and useful crisp sound for the dollars I paid for it
Second: This mic is extremely sensitive to bangs or sudden movements and makes an unpleasant sound on the microphone

The quality of the mic is really amazing, and the cross configuration of the two microphones make for great stereo recording
and it died mid recording never to be starting again no matter what troubleshooting
I had trouble with the mic cutting in and out while recording
It has stereo sound, which will record into left and right channels, which is great for recording interviews or background noise
This this is really nice and has great recording quality with its two condenser mics

Of course, you can also easily hook it up to a dynamic mic as well.
This mic is awesome, I use it for my main source of audio when shooting, the quality is excellent
and you are looking for good audio, I would recommend this mic
With USB cable, also makes a fantastic external computer mic.
Sounded great with one person mic'd to Sony Bluetooth lapel mic and receiver connected to this H1 over pa, no hiss

As far as value goes, it's hard to overstate how good this thing is for the money--and how super easy it is to use
A great little recorder, but it eats batteries, even when turned Off, not a good thing for a portable recorder.
The only "bad" thing about it is that it comes with a micro SD card of only 2Gb
Very light-weight (which again, some may consider a good thing), total-plastic feel
Nifty little thing this recorder is and pretty reliable

I am extremely happy with my decision and will be using Zoom H1 well into the future!
The Zoom H1 is very sensitive and would pick up the noise from your motor lens
The H1 is cheaper, smaller and less complicated to use.
Also, I highly recommend the Caseling Zoom H1 hard case - for under $10 on Amazon
I would not recommend this product because of this problem and the fact that the H1 had similar problems with battery life

The quality of recordings seems to be as good as with the higher priced units.
The Zoom H2 is only $30 more ... could someone comment on any advantages and recommend a selection? Thanks!
Outdoors, use a 'dead cat'.Pros:1.Excellent sound.2.Excellent battery life, even with a AAA (saves a couple of ounces travel weight).3.It just works
I would recommend a larger SD card and the Zoom Dead Cat to reduce wind noise when using this outside
Technically it is as good as without the tape hiss, weighs less than one mike and carries in my pocket not my car trunk

audiophile-grade playback gear and the 96kHz LP rips I make on the H1 still sound about as good as those made on any other ADC I've got
The quality of recordings seems to be as good as with the higher priced units.
I haven't had a battery drain problem like a lot of other reviewers, but I just take out the battery when it's not it use, to be safe.
it came with and the audio is quite clear as long as it is pointed in your general direction, but not as good as with the lapel mic

When you change the battery, you lose the date and time, which then must be reset.
It also has a hard time separating sounds meant for one side.
it only supports one battery, which limits recording time.
I watch and read many reviews and even then still have a tough time pulling the trigger
if I had to do it all again, I would have a hard time deciding

I experienced the same battery drain issue others have refered to.
so I'm now confident the battery draining issue has been resolved.
The quality of recordings seems to be as good as with the higher priced units.
noted:- None of our units exhibit the battery drain issue
Pros:- Microphones are clear with a wide field and well-separated between L/R- Easy to set up - not too many things to

Consider mounting this recorder on a tripod to reduce handling noise.
Pros:- Microphones are clear with a wide field and well-separated between L/R- Easy to set up - not too many things to
Cheap plastic feel to it and the recording was not even all the way around plus it picked up a fair amount of handling noise
As others have mentioned the unit does feel cheap, transmits handling noise, and the tripod mount is weak plastic, but the same can be said of any other digital recorder in this price range.

Pros:- Microphones are clear with a wide field and well-separated between L/R- Easy to set up - not too many things to
It has a cheap feel to it, but the sound this thing captures is second to none in its price range.
, I loved the style and look of it, it was very comfortable to hold, but it is VERY cheap plastic feeling
The device does give a cheap plastic feel and texture but having it for about three days and already been

The body is made of what feels like cheap plastic that would break at the first dropping
if you like shiny plastic chrome that breaks, buy the zoom.
My one grip is that is is covered in what feels like cheap plastic.
it records fairly well, but this becomes a moot point as soon as the cheap shiny plastic construction gives and it breaks.
The Zoom H2 is only $30 more ... could someone comment on any advantages and recommend a selection? Thanks!

It has all spectrum well covered with built in mic and absolutely no internal background noise
The quality of recordings seems to be as good as with the higher priced units.
And with the background noise, the voices were often indistinguishable from the noise.
The auto recording level contributes to this background noise when outdoor

The door for the memory card is cheesy and I could see where if you got too rambunctious with it may break
Pros:- Microphones are clear with a wide field and well-separated between L/R- Easy to set up - not too many things to
I will agree with others that the door for the micro sd card is a little flimsy and I can see it breaking in the future.
Also was worried I was going to break the SD door off, so I won't be pulling the memory out on a regular
Two of the three H1s lost their memory card doors, both fell off within two days of opening the packaging.

introduces tons of wind noise, so a 'dead cat' windscreen is practically obligatory, as is a shock mount.
And if you're outdoors, pick up a $15 fuzzy to really reduce wind noise
Get the H1 Accessory Pack as well but also get a RedHead windscreen (or similar) to boot; the included windscreen in the Accessory Pack is great for voice/plosives and all but horrible for wind noise (which is not surprising since it's a foam windscreen)
The plastic case of the H1 is ultra-sensitive to handling and wind noise.
I would recommend a larger SD card and the Zoom Dead Cat to reduce wind noise when using this outside
