Zoom H1n Handy Recorder (2018 Model)

    • The sound recording quality is fantastic and the mic cuts out wind noise well
    • The only downside is that sometimes the mic is too sensitive so it picks up on movement
    • this mic is awes!
    • Take my advice and spend an extra $50 for a more robust mic.
    • As backup (and for comparison), I also ran my Rode boom mic
    • I use an inexpensive omni-directional lapel mic with it, and I always get very clear audio of both the bride and groom.
    • I bought a lapel mic to avoid that, but the lapel mic was worse.
    • With the package, it's a great mic
    • With USB cable, also makes a fantastic external computer mic.
    • Great portable mic
    • Great mic
    • Pair this with a good lapel mic and you are ready for any interview or audio capturing station!
    • I would prefer snappier buttons on the side and easier way to navigate the menus, and the record button is mushy but overall it's an excellent mic
    • in crowded areas however we plug a cheap dynamic mic into it and still manage to get great sound
    • Works as a live mic when hooked up to external sound
    • Gets the job done and its the best quality mic in the price range.
    • Anyway, good mic!
    • Very sensitive mic, excellent recorder
    • On one side, it is a good, portable high quality mic and recorder, and on the other side it doubles as a USB mic for the PC.
    • I have a behringer mixer and a few condenser mics and a dynamic mic, but this thing kicks
    • It is so much better, and now I can buy a boom mic and plug it into this for even better recording
    • This mic is awesome, I use it for my main source of audio when shooting, the quality is excellent
    • I have used it as an external recorder for my podcast as well as a single mic recorder with the addition of a pop filter
    • It's sturdy and has a high-quality mic
    • Of course, you can also easily hook it up to a dynamic mic as well.
    • Can easily be used as a handheld mic, connect it to a lapel mic, cold shoe it onto a camera, use for podcast ingredients, etc
    • Also works as a live mic for your computer through a standard mini-USB to USB cable.
    • Other than that, it's a really nice mic for the price.
    • Sounded great with one person mic'd to Sony Bluetooth lapel mic and receiver connected to this H1 over pa, no hiss
    • in crowded areas however we plug a cheap dynamic mic into it and still manage to get great sound
    • Loving this mic so far
    • I've discovered that on the unit I received, one mic is particularly susceptible to electromagnetic interference
    • And plugging an external mic to it works like a champ.
    • Great mic for the money.
    • Great mic
    • After buying it I was very impressed and still am, especially when you consider that I had to abandon my boom mic altogether and use this as a stand-alone item
    • Very easy to use and learn! The only thing is the mic is so powerful that it picks up popping noise and outside wind noise too along with your recording
    • It can also work as a self-contained interview mic if you ALWAYS use a foam ball atop the X/Y mics built atop the unit and spend a few minutes with earphones on learning to find the "sweet spot" distance/position range at your subject's typical volume
    • Second: This mic is extremely sensitive to bangs or sudden movements and makes an unpleasant sound on the microphone
    • This is an excellent mic.
    • Some form of mic protective cageIf your doing dual system video/audio and ate on a budget, this is your tool
    • because the mic is so sensitive, wind really does cause noise feedback...again, nothing a windscreen cant solve
    • I'm not saying this thing is equal to any $500 Sennheiser mic, but it's as good or better as any <$200 mic i have at home
    • Works great with a plug in lav mic or ear-hanging mic like the Pyle-Pro. Hours of usage off one AA battery
    • and you are looking for good audio, I would recommend this mic
    • I can hardly get 2 hours out of this unit, real external power would be great since I use this on a DSLR Rig with a pre-amp in place of my old H4N and DR100.I wish this unit used lithium cells though, 3.7v would probably help out a bit when the mic hits the max and can clean up distortion a little bit.
    • but that's not really the mic's fault, the mic doesn't have a high sensitivity either
    • I found this mic to be extremely accurate
    • Works great with a plug in lav mic or ear-hanging mic like the Pyle-Pro. Hours of usage off one AA battery
    • Being a YouTuber looking for higher and higher quality, I was searching for something to plug my boom mic into
