    • Get the H1 Accessory Pack as well but also get a RedHead windscreen (or similar) to boot; the included windscreen in the Accessory Pack is great for voice/plosives and all but horrible for wind noise (which is not surprising since it's a foam windscreen)
    • If you are outside, put a sock on it and no wind noise
    • It needs a light cloth cover to limit wind noise.
    • introduces tons of wind noise, so a 'dead cat' windscreen is practically obligatory, as is a shock mount.
    • The recordings have impressive sound quality, however to record in external locations, a foam windscreen is recommended, for its lo-cut filter may not eliminate wind noise
    • The plastic case of the H1 is ultra-sensitive to handling and wind noise.
    • I purchased a foam cover to reduce wind noise
    • you're going to use this outdoors, you will probably want a windscreen, as it picks up wind noise like crazy right out of the box - I got a little one here that makes the whole rig look like a troll doll's head, but it works really well, much quieter in the wind now.
    • if you run a lithium photo battery in it, the battery life rivals, if not exceeds the H4n's internal.sound quality is great, intuitive useage is okonly thing that kinda bad is it is EXTREMELY susceptible to wind noise
    • In my open-cockpit car, I matched it to an Azden SMX-10 mike and the corresponding Azden Hi-Performance Softie Windshield (dead mouse-type) in order to fully cancel wind noise.
    • You have a lo cut noise filter for background/wind noise reduction
    • Creaky and thin plastic body, as well as the windscreen-less mics introduce large amounts of handling / wind noise when handled in any way
    • I would recommend a larger SD card and the Zoom Dead Cat to reduce wind noise when using this outside
    • And if you're outdoors, pick up a $15 fuzzy to really reduce wind noise
    • The alkaline AA battery included with it was almost dead, died out completely after about 30 minutes of use; It has an old, outdated mini USB plug; It picks up incredible amounts of wind noise, as well as breathing noise when placed close to mouth
    • I get wind noise at even low sensitivity, wind screen completely fixes the issue....if your rocking a DSLR get a cheap hotshoe mount to put this on...you will pick up allot of noise hand held unfortunately but there are ways around this and this is always a must have with DSLR video...with a big clap at the beginging of the recording you can separate the two and sync in post...wonderful for interviews
    • If you’re filming outside it has a built in LO-CUT feature which helps to dissipate ambient background noise and wind noise while active
    • You can hear the irritating Auto-focus noise w
