Zoom H4N PRO Digital Multitrack Recorder

    • I have had this recorder for about six months and have used it in a number of environments -- recording crowd noises on Washington DC streets, recording background noise in a number of live situations, and as a primary, 4 track recorder to record live stage presentations.
    • I don't want all of those background noises in my videos!
    • As you may expect, the attached microphones are pretty unusable for anything truly professional, although they can capture ref audio as well or even background noise for post
    • If you simply connect a mic to the camera, no matter how good your mic is you will get LOT OF BACKGROUND NOISE which is understandable since the camera wasn't originally designed to shoot pro video
    • The H4N will also let you record using two attached microphones and the internal microphones at the same time as well, which could be useful if you're looking to capture some background noise if you are recording something on location or say to mix the crowd reaction to a soundboard feed
    • The sound comes through really clearly, and most background noise is eliminated with the high-pass filter.
    • it's the background noise that kills the recording quality
    • Silly boy/girl/alien child, The background noises are what makes a film more realistic.
    • Sound is crystal clear with a soft/smooth background noise that doesn't cause any disturbance.
    • I am a pianist and bought this to record myself playng with good quality sound and minimal background noise.

    • I work in media, so interviewing people and getting clear sound, especially in a cramped room where there's a lot of background noise, can be a challenge
    • If your environment is clean from noise your recordings will be as clear and perfect as you could ever dream
    • I highly recommend it for pros as well as for common audiophiles.
