• Reviews around manual (2.41 of 5)

Zoom H4N PRO Digital Multitrack Recorder

    • I was scared to buy H4N due to a few reviews aka tough manual
    • It is worth repeating that the manual is very frustrating to use
    • Manual is overwhelming and can be confusing (Tutorial videos online is way more helpful and easier to understand; these days, companies should just provide online videos instead of manual, especially for something that involves a lot of button presses and navigating like a maze with just the jogwheel)If you feel you're missing some options or don't see the 4CH or MTR mode options, then make sure you don't have the STAMINA (battery saving mode) switched on
    • The sound on this recorder is really good, simple to use ( I haven't touched the manual yet ), and very tough
    • I hate those manuals
    • The HN4 comes with a great manual that explains everything that you need to know
    • There are some down sides: throw away the manual its useless
    • To be fair, with my rating, as above, I'm venting my frustrations, here, with the totally inadequate manual that comes with this device
    • PocketStudio)The manual is a farse in Japanese /English translation and any person that does not have experience with recording devices like this might really struggle to learn how to use this unit (although it's fairly intuitive to operate if one is familiar with such devices - I gave up on the manual and just dug around in the menus, but the unit is still a little 'fiddly' to operate in advanced modes
    • Finally, the manual is nearly incomprehensible
    • I ignored the manual as I found the recorder's controls immediately very intuitive (and I am really an audio/video amateur)
    • While the manual is terrible, I am now figuring things out for
    • I was scared to buy H4N due to a few reviews aka tough manual
    • The manual is clear and very thorough, and this recorder has more capabilities than most people will ever need
    • The manual is critical for understanding all that this great little mic can do
    • Amazon reviewers evidently are capable of providing a far better user information resource than the crappy manual that is included with the Zoom 4HN.Finally, here we are eight paragraphs later, and I've still not addressed THE fundamental question:
    • , I red the manual and I love it
    • The manual just confuses you by slapping everything together
    • I've never had a recorder like this before and the manual that comes with it is almost completely incomprehensible
    • basically is no support, save the horrible manual that you can download.
    • It comes with what seems to be a pretty comprehensive instruction manual that I haven't had any trouble understanding so far.
    • That is what the manual is like, in many cases.
    • It was a little confusing figuring out the manual, but once I did, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the H4n was to use
    • My M-audio 410 which works
    • If your environment is clean from noise your recordings will be as clear and perfect as you could ever dream
    • I highly recommend it for pros as well as for common audiophiles.
    • This item is used extensively in a DSLR video shooting function, as well as for ambient field recording
