I bought this primarily for my pandemic home gym, specifically to support my weight bench and extra padding for my floor work.

My adjustable flat bench fits on top and it's enough padding over my ceramic tile floor for placing, not dropping, my adjustable dumbbells on top as I work out.

As you interlock the pieces to occupy a large area you will have more than enough of the edge pieces - but you might need to cut the longer pieces into the shorter ones)I laid it on top of hard wood floor so it slips a bit - I have put pieces of furniture to hold it in place
