This mat is much sturdier and is still like new after 2 years.
Other cheaper mats that I've used in the past would be cracking already.
It cost more than the really cheap mats but well worth it but not near as expensive as some other mats I considered that were at least 50% more in cost than this one.
There is no odor of any kind (other mats have this initially from what I have read) just be careful when you unpack it, it immediately snaps into it's flat shape when you cut the tape
After having purchased other mats which cracked and basically fell apart shortly after purchase, I was hesitant to spend much more on a better mat, but it was well worth it
