For the higher frequencies 10 - 20 kHz I could hear the speaker producing the correct tone, but the amplifier board (a PAM8403) started producing noise that pretty much drowned out the actual tone.

I was able to get good clear tones from 40 Hz to 10 kHz.

Note that volume was pretty good and the speakers are capable of being much louder than needed.

Had to give it four stars only because one of the speakers arrived damaged

The outer cone was dented inward and the metal mounting tabs were bent out of shape
