3G.After proving this issue to the German JBL support, all they said was "we understand you disappointment, but are unable to solve this issue".As a result, I can neither recommend the devie (because of this bug), nor the manufacturer (because of poor support).

This model is the On Stage III (JBLOS3P2BLKV) which is NOT iPhone-compatible, and the other one is the On Stage IIIP (JBLOS3PIPBLKV) which IS iPhone-compatible

Swapped for the On Stage 200ID, which was slightly more expensive, but MUCH better quality!

Sound quality was great but the static and noise was unbearable, even more so if you listen to music the whole day while working.

It's compatible with the iphone 3G and 3GS, charges both, and the sound quality is great for such a small, compact speaker system.

Lack of iPhone compatibility aside, this unit is a well-built portable iPod speaker system.

Bottom line, this unit may be great for some iPod models, but not necessarily all docking models (as said in the description).

It's not a bad little unit, just think the Bose portable delivers a more rich sound than this unit.

One day past this date, the JBL On Stage III started making deep humming noises which would only stop if I turned it off and pulled my ipod out.

When I plugged the iPod into the docking station & turned it on, there was a buzzing static noise.

It makes a white noise and sound quality is not clear.

I give a one star because the infernal noise makes it worthless as an iPod dock, and an iPod dock is the only thing it does
