The settings can also be pre-tuned using an SWR analyzer like the MFJ-259 C which transmits a low power signal on frequency (into the 50 ohm Dummy load) and also measures SWR and Impedance as the MFJ-969 is adjusted, saving wear on your fairly expensive transmitter

Finally, since using an Amateur frequency tuned antenna on non-amateur frequencies, the MFJ-969 and even auto-tuners may run out of low SWR settings, so I added an MFJ-914 Auto Tuner Extender which expands the solution set up to 10 times and allows for almost perfect 1:1 SWR on almost all frequencies from 1.8 MHZ to 50 MHZ, and at least 1:2 any other time, in my use
