On Stage DT8500 Guitar/Keyboard throne is a good product... the placement of the chair was a little off in the product i got... a little wood glue to plug the 3 holes
All this aside I am still giving the stool high marks because it's a fair price, it does fold down with some extra dis-assembly for transport to venues and I find it works well for me

As others have pointed out, they used a solid steel "L" bar that the seat is attached too and that slides into the lower assembly and is secured with two large handled, and easy to use, "thumb" screws.

The foot rest is too high, Im 6' tall and when I have the chair at a comfortable height the foot rest is still way too high.
Everyone will find a seat height that works for their legs and the welded-in-place footrest, but either you adjust the seat for the footrest or the footrest will likely be at the wrong height for you
Not comfortable, and the footrest is at a useless height.
It is a bit heavy, but the seat is perfect height, adjustable and comfortable.
