I like the overall concept of the RCA 7" Portable Widescreen TV

i bought this RCA portable for work when i have down time on the late shifts

And tried with a Different cable antenna that works fine on my other portable rca tv.

I've had my RCA 7" Portable TV, RTV86073 for several weeks now

After careful research, I purchased the RCA RTV86073 portable TV as a "just in case" battery-operated device for power failures, etc

After a short time it loses programmed channels 8.2 and 8.3 (only 8.1 is available).Since these PBS channels are about the most important channels I am interested inI have 3 choices: 1. get lucky because sometimes it works

The manual said to perform an auto scan to search for the locally available channels.

Of course, if you connect the input to cable or satellite, your reception will be as good as with any modern television set at any price

This little TV has a pretty good picture, but it would not pick up my favorite local channel, which was disappointing

The small whip antenna isn't enough to pick up my favorite channel in the kitchen, which I expected,

The tiny little speaker is a little tinny but pretty darn good considering the size

It's a nice size for a handheld and I ordered it to have in case of hurricane weather, etc

I kind of missed seeing stuff as it airs.

Color and picture quality is amazing for a small screen, it's small but really a perfect size for personal viewing

There are no analog stations available because they stopped sending them

With just the small digital antenna supplied with the unit I was able to receive many, though not all, of the digital stations available in Los Angeles.

Of course, if you connect the input to cable or satellite, your reception will be as good as with any modern television set at any price

I tried two new antennas right away, and just like the small one with the set, neither brought in any station

I had my doubts it would really pick up the local stations, well I was wrong!

The price was very reasonable to get such a sharp featured TV.

- If you're looking for a portable TV this is a quality product at a great price

I would not recommend this product.

This product is very good for the price, the only problem is the menu buttons are a bit erratic, so you may think it's not working unless you watch carefully.

If the stand were more adjustable, I would really like this product

This is a good product for the price and will make me a happy camper

We even bought a new antenna and it still did not work!!

Included with the TV was a brochure on what looked like a much better antenna.

I would have given it 5 stars if it had a better antenna.

Perhaps an outdoor/rotating antenna would do the trick.

The controls are improved on the RCA over my older Haier set

The available controls for setting such items as the picture, audio, V-chip and other controls are quite good, and if you (or someone else) screws them up, there's a reset option to restore things to the default settings

I really liked the TV, however I would have liked a better reception indoors, the only antenna I use outdoors

reception is very poor, showed very rainy, and was not getting all the channels i had to buy a bigger antena

With the small accompanying antenna, I received only about half as many channels and the reception was a bit choppy

Gets horrible reception inside of the house (which is where we will be during the storm).

My area does not get good reception apparently, for this product, even with the booster antenna

When I received it, I found the picture had great resolution; it worked on my cable; good sound

The sound is not bad either, although I think headphones will make a huge difference in the sound.

Not a bad picture, but the sound could have been a little better.

Sound is not great but the picture is very clear as long as you get a decent reception.

Also invest in a high gain antennae (must be mounted to a metal structure for optimal signal reception).

Warning: First time user has to Auto Scan the channel in order for the TV to catch the signals otherwise, it will display weak signal

The volume on the analog channels were a bit distorted if the signal was weak, otherwise, louder than the digital channels

Plus, the signal was so weak that the picture was very unstable

Got it in case of power failure here in northeast

I chose passive (non-amplified) rabbit ears, rather than an amplified antenna, to be useable during a power failure

Nothing worse than sitting in a dark room with a candle staring at shadows during a power failure
