The plastic could be more durable feeling, but I like how light it is with the current plastic
I guess it's the fact that it's adjustable, but the hard plastic squeaks and crunches every time you move your feet..
The plastic itself feels very sturdy, though I think this could benefit from some weight on the bottom of the stand, or a wider base to keep it from tilting every time you shift your weight
