I own larger Sony video cams with excellent Steadycam stabilization and bought this as a result

Combine that with its small size, and you have the potential for some great action videos

We did notice that the sound on the recordings is exceptional too.

Vixia Mini X has excellent sound, but the screen can't be turned off, and it's much larger and more delicate

However, the size is PERFECT for its intended purpose of being an action cam.

I originally went with the Sony cams because I liked the size and shape more than the current GoPro cameras

I wish i would have just bought another go pro cam becase its easy to use and my existing mouts will fit it

the only concern i have will the cam is the plastic port that covers the usb port and the hdmi port.

The only cam I like better is the brand the GoPro HERO 5 Black edition

If you enable the image stabilization (recommended if you're walking with it without a steady cam), you lose the full 170 degrees as it uses the constricted space for the stabilization

The battery lasts one full day filming myself skiing (when you stop recording it turns off automatically and when you press the recording button again it turns on and starts recording).The image quality is exellent and the image stabilitzation is way better than in gopro's (the down part is that the viewing angle reduces to about 120° or 130°).I love it, great cam at great price!

This camera has amazing video (and audio when it is outside of the waterproof case).

The Slow Motion video is really good as well, however, those menus make it harder than it should be

It is better than a GoPro in my opinion and it has better low light function

This sony camera and the buttons/menus/apps aren't even half as good as the gopro

Due to its shape and orientation, it's not as handy for strapping onto your body as a GoPro, but for everything else, it seems to be better.

So anyone thats trying to argue that a GoPro is better in picture quality is ignorant and full of it

Waterproof CasingThe waterproof casing is very solid and was tested to be indeed waterproof.

You CANNOT get to them with the hard case on

Indeed, this plastic box is just about as tough and capable of withstanding abuse as the protective clear case that Sony provides with this camera for underwater use.

It does everything I want, including 1080P video at 60FPS and 720P at 120FPS for smooth slow motion, a choice between vivid and neutral colors (I prefer neutral for more editing flexibility), and image stabilization

The options between the video types and slow motion are also not very clear
