This is exactly what it took and the video is as clean and clear as if it were plugged directly into the video card.
It seems that the hub doesn't have enough bandwidth to support 3x 1080p@60hz.
Testing multiple 4K connections at the same time was not done, due to a lack of multiple 4K displays, though testing of a single 4K display via DisplayPort as well as with a DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter worked without any issue
Gen1.I'm giving it 3 start because the manufactures website clearly says that 1920x1080 @60hz = 22% bandwidth, so 3 should only consume 66% meaning it should support this configuration
If you have modern hi-resolution monitors, you will probably exceed the bandwidth of your graphics card, or of the displayport, or of this device, so you should check your specs

Works perfectly as expected.....have set up on several computers for an eight monitor setup....
The device works pretty much as expected but there are several issues that although not a problem with the device itself, will frustrate you a lot if you are not aware of them
Did anyone succeed connecting 3 HDMI 1920x1080 to the usb c?
It is working in windows as expected, but no linux support

Work as advertise but only giving four stars for wire being too short
This hub works just as advertised and is worth the money

It's unfortunate as it is very convenient to be able to have 3 monitors connected at the same time, but this hub is just too inconsistent to get a good rating.
have had two different monitors connected to this that when the hub got hot, would blink on and off
but I can say that Youtube and productivity applications display well using the hub and the product is very easy to use
I tried to use this at first with the display port on the system board(Dell Optiplex 980), but it made the computer shut off, so I bought a Nvidia workstation card which the hub did not perform correctly with this card as well

When I turn off my monitors at lunch or the end of the day, randomly I lose one monitor
The computer will run 4 monitors, however I had to set each external monitor at 59hz before the two connected to this device would work.
Unfortunately, this did not do the trick to support dual monitors
This works well for to take the signal from my laptop, and power dual external monitors.
As of 3 days ago, the left monitor will not work with the hub (both monitors now don't work with the hub)I am not sure if it is an Intel Graphics Driver issue or if the device is damaged internally due to the temperature change

Startech technical support replaced the device at their cost as the original didn't work, however that was before I set the monitors to 59hz
But the device can work with the right components to connect to it.

If Startech thinks I have a faulty device, I'd happily try another
Overall, this is a useful device that has one major issue (monitors seem to blink off and back on occasionally at random intervals)

That said i would not have encountered it had this device not glitched and all three monitors lose signal without any way to recover a signal
Now, when I bought this piece, I wanted to use it for my SP3 as well as for me MacBook Air
For some reason, the first day I plugged the 3rd monitor in, it started flickering "No signal, check connection".Now, every time I turn off my PC, that monitor keeps flashing on and off with this message
Now the unit does not work at all, the monitors do not detect any signal

The moment I plugged more than one screen into the adapter, everything would stop working; screens would flicker from working to black once a second, the computer would make the device-connected, device-disconnected noise repeatedly, and it was impossible to use the computer in any capacity until the MST Hub was unplugged
I have to unplug it and plug it in constantly along with restarting the computer and even that will not always work

If power management turns the display off or puts your computer to sleep, your computer loses knowledge of your monitors
or sometimes it just froze my computer, dont waste your money, get a real video card.

Perhaps I got a defective unit but spent a few hours trying to troubleshoot the
All in all, if StarTech doesn't offer to send you a replacement on the spot, and you don't want to spend the money shipping the unit back to a reseller just to get another defective unit, you'd be better off cutting your losses and purchase a different product after sending this one back for a refund.
StarTech does not seem to have a defined policy on how to handle defective units - when I contacted StarTech support over live chat, instead of being offered a replacement then and there like one user in the reviews, I was directed to send the unit back to the reseller on Amazon, and request a replacement from them
I contacted the seller from Amazon so we will see what happens if I just got a bad unit.
When I asked the support specialist how the reseller would know a good unit from a bad unit (since they clearly sent me a bad unit), I was told that "They should be aware of this".Rather than take the risk of wasting more time and money on the reseller sending me a bad unit
