The displays are crisp and don't flicker.- The Surface Pro can drive both displays and still drive its own display.

I occasionally lose the second display when my laptop wakes from sleep mode, but it's restored when I unplug and replug.

That said i would not have encountered it had this device not glitched and all three monitors lose signal without any way to recover a signal

Now, when I bought this piece, I wanted to use it for my SP3 as well as for me MacBook Air

All in all, if StarTech doesn't offer to send you a replacement on the spot, and you don't want to spend the money shipping the unit back to a reseller just to get another defective unit, you'd be better off cutting your losses and purchase a different product after sending this one back for a refund.

StarTech does not seem to have a defined policy on how to handle defective units - when I contacted StarTech support over live chat, instead of being offered a replacement then and there like one user in the reviews, I was directed to send the unit back to the reseller on Amazon, and request a replacement from them
