Tascam DP-03SD Digital Portastudio Multitrack Recorder
style:DP-03SD
The DP-03SD is an affordable way to get into TASCAM's famed Porta studio system of making recording simple and affordable for musicians. The 8-track digital recorder captures your music at CD quality to affordable SD/SDHC cards, and a...
Unit records well, has some decent editing functions, modulations, compressions etc
Good unit but doesn't have any -5db or -10db pads for inputs, which is a problem because the input signal runs a little hot, even when I have the input volume all the way down it will still be easily peaking with certain mics and instruments
Thing is, this unit is really good at what it primarily does, which is record several tracks at once
I'm recommending this unit to all of my friends that have an interest in home / portable studio projects
delivered on time, and in perfect condition, works as described, Great product, Thank You !
Once I got the hang of the three step process of initial recording, mix down recording and finally the master recorded, it was a very straight forward effort with features that can adjust and enhance the overall final product
Look, if your a musician, and want to concentrate on the music, instead of a computer screen, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!Good product Tascam, Keep it up.
Awesome product for those who like to use physical hardware and not just software.
Amazing recorder in general but especially for the price.. the quick guide is great to get started and i imagine you could figure it all out on your own
While it was functional, it was a decent little recorder
This digital recorder is way more than I need for my purposes, but I love the quality of sound.
I would highly recommend this recorder for anyone who likes to record music, sounds for movie tracks, sound effects for live plays or just plain fun.
It's unfortunate few if any recorders with this many tracks offered currently offer footswitch punch in / out ability.
In today's world of new, new, new, more, more, "better," "better," fancier, blah blah blah, this thing is great at doing exactly what it was meant to do
I love this thing if you are looking for a new board for a great
I really enjoy this thing, the sound quality is fabulous.
But the odd thing is when you set a pan pot all the way left or right on say, track 1, then the sound seems to be at full volume
This new digital one is even better however, things like not having to wait for the tape to rewind and many other improvements.
I got very used to using the internal mics on the Boss to lay down quick ideas and to use to lay down basic backing tracks for jamming along with
Haven't had a lot of time to work with my new recorder, but have been able to lay down tracks for a couple of songs.
This Tascam unit does, has enough tracks and the reviews seemed good
Sounds great , virtual tracks ,8 inputs only had it a couple of weeks .Love it.
Unlike my micro br boss recorder, this one doesn’t do sound effects, but you can adjust high, tenor, bass, reverb, etc so that’s pretty cool and it has a lot more available tracks for recording than the boss recorders
I thought surely functions would be improved and vocal or guitar preset sounds would be better
As for eq, if you need eq to fix a bad mike sound, or a bad amp sound, or a bad singer, I suggest you start by improving the source material
The sound is not too bright, nor too dull, nor too harsh
I have old open reels, very EXPENSIVE open reels, this thing replaces them, is cheaper (by far), no maintenance, has great sound
If I decide to run my guitar direct, I had a hard time getting a good guitar sound, no preset choices only speaker cab simulations and nothing for bass guitar specific, Getting decent sounds requires a lot of tweaking
At that point you've lost ALL the work you were doing
I'm also involved in a satellite recording project, and this works very well for that, with .wav files easily uploaded and then saved back to a laptop or desktop
I've only done less than 20 songs. not worth the heartache of losing your work.
and I lost some work
NO CD-R like on the Neo
