This MVNO uses DoCoMo towers which from what I’ve read has the best coverage in Japan

LTE is a little faster than 4G, but 4G is fast enough for most needs.

It provided great coverage all over Japan and topping it off was so simple

Having a very difficult experience on our last trip to Japan without speedy internet (our mobile service provides 128k service for free, but it's good for nothing), I purchased a mobile wifi cellular hotspot (4g/LTE Netgear Unlocked mobile hotspot) and this Zen Simcard with the hopes of having speedy cellular internet upon landing in Japan

After that every time phone was turned on got a excellent connection

There are certain areas in Japan that there is no reception, but over all in big cities there is stable connection

As far as speed goes, they were on par with what you'd expect on many carriers, and not once did I had slow speeds or dropped connection, it was quite reliable all the time

Having data on my phone was a lifesaver several times during the trip

You can actually set it up before your trip and set a start date for cellular service… Pretty amazing!

This SIM was very easy to set up using the companion app.

Not nearly as easy as a preloaded sim though I found the app helpful later on to see how much data I had left

Overall, fast speeds in the locations I travelled to: Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hakone.
