You have to remove the clear cap and push the button on or off, then replace the cap
The power button is underneath the clear cap and glows a faint blue when it is on.
I was glad to read the reviews to know how to switch on the unit by removing the top plastic cap and pushing the blue button
Found out that on the top, there is a blue button covered by clear plastic cap

I hate the power strips, they take up so much space and yet, half the time I can't even use all of the plugs because there's not enough "space"
very space saver and good protection for electrical appliances.
but once that is done, it is a real space saver and very tidy.
They're interesting looking enough that they don't stick out like a sore thumb in our modern space and due to unique shape you never have to worry about trying to squeeze too many charging bricks into it.

This piece of sh*t broke down w/ 4 plugs in in less than couple of weeks
Looks and works just as advertised, although, the little blue light isn't as bright as the picture depicts
Everything works as advertised, phone actually charges faster plugged into the usb port than it does with the wall adapter plugged in to the outlets
However, I'm glad I did because it really works as advertised,
This would be great as advertised for a conference or training room, but we are using it on a nightstand by our bed with limited space for a strip especially when needing to use larger plugs.

The cover over the power switch is a little difficult to remove; I leave mine off as I am not worried about anyone accidentally bumping it to OFF
The blue light, actually a switch, was covered by a clear plastic cap that had to be removed before the switch could be depressed
It also has a (removable, optional) clear plastic cover, so you can still see the on/off status of the switch, but avoid accidentally hitting the power button and turning off your systems

I do have to laugh at the idiots who wrote negative reviews, particularly the ones who claimed the surge protector never worked
they work great - i like the round design
If you look at all the comments most people with bad reviews think it doesn't work.
While getting ready to leave a bad review I spotted one that said before you return it as broken, "pry off the clear plastic dome" and amazing, it works fine and it's now been several months of steady use
